About Us
The CartsPlus Group Inc. consists of three operating companies – CartsPlus Healthcare Systems Ltd.,
CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd. and CartsPlus Shading Systems Ltd.
The CartsPlus Group Inc. is the holding/investment/financing company that provides the operating capital for the CartsPlus companies.
The principle behind all four companies is founder Ron Doren, who has almost a quarter century of experience in the healthcare sector, having held senior management (Vice-President level) positions in private and hospital owned organizations prior to venturing out on his own in 1995. The company known today as CartsPlus Healthcare Systems Ltd. was originally incorporated in December 1995 as Doren Healthcare Consulting Group Inc.
With our acquisition of the assets of the Concord, Ontario based company formerly operated as Dobkot Limited in March 2000, the name was changed to CartsPlus Healthcare Systems Ltd. The change of name was undertaken to provide marketing synergies in the health care market with our sister company, CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd., a leading provider of materials handling systems (carts!) to the long term care sector. The purchase of Dobkot included all of the fixtures, dies and patents required to continue the manufacture of cubicle curtain track, I.V. track, I.V. poles and accessories. In response to customer needs, our product line has expanded to include any type of window covering including roller shades, verticals, drapes and mini-blinds. The company has grown dramatically over the last three years, both through internal growth as well as the July 2005 acquisition of Exceldar Northern Customfab, a manufacturer of cubicle curtain & I.V. track systems. CartsPlus Healthcare Systems Ltd. has provided curtain and I.V. track for major projects across Canada including the new hospital in Brantford, Ontario, and the new Bloorview McMillan Hospital (Toronto). CartsPlus Healthcare Systems Ltd. is the exclusive supplier to the Humber River Regional Hospitals (all three sites) and the company used as base bid for all track tenders issued by St. Michael’s Hospital (Toronto).
CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd. was originally incorporated in December 1996 as Acart Healthcare Products Ltd., and is today a leading distributor of material handling systems (carts!) to long term care facilities across Canada. The company name was changed to CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd. in March 2000, to provide marketing synergies with a new company acquisition. CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd. was established to provide storage, transport and productivity solutions for Canada’s long term care sector.
The company was set up with an exclusive focus on the needs of the long term care industry in order to capitalize on the expansion that was anticipated to take place within the long term care sector. Our comprehensive product line consists of more than 150 items including par level and linen exchange carts, laundry hampers, personal clothing carts, hanging garment racks, utility carts, soiled and clean linen handling carts as well as a wide range of specialty shelving products. CartsPlus has national contracts in place with most major long term care providers, including Extendicare (52 facilities), Central Park Lodges, Leisureworld, Carressant Care, and Oakwood Retirement Communities to name only a few. An indication of our market presence is the fact that CartsPlus supplied the laundry/ linen carts for more than 80% of all new nursing home openings in Canada during the last three years.
CartsPlus Shading Systems Ltd. was established in June 2006 to manufacture the MechoShade line of manual and electric roller shades under license from MechoShade Inc. “The Architect’s Choice”, MechoShade has been the innovator for manual, motorized and automated solar shading and room darkening solutions for over 30 years.
The CartsPlus companies operate out of two industrial units located at 5080 Timberlea Blvd. in Mississauga, Ontario. This location is approximately 15 minutes west of Toronto International Airport. CartsPlus has developed and refined an extensive database of key decision makers in long term care facilities and hospitals across Canada. This database forms the basis for all of our direct mail, sales and telemarketing efforts. The CartsPlus Group’s mandate is to continue to seek out and/or develop products for the long term care and hospital sectors that will lead to greater operating efficiencies and/or improve the quality of life of residents/patients and staff. Our future plans call for continued development of a specialized sales network throughout Canada.

CartsPlus made a surprise donation of $1,000 to Dalton’s 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament for Myasthenia Gravis, a rare neurological autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junctions and produce fluctuating weakness and fatigue.
Dalton was diagnosed in July 2003, just before his 10th birthday and since then has advocated for the cause raising awareness and monies to help find a cure.

The Lions Foundation of Canada operates three specific programs to meet the needs of Canadians with vision, hearing and other medically and physically limiting disabilities. Training programs are both generic to meet the general needs of clients, but are also specific to the needs of the individual client whom the Dog Guide is assigned. In the final stage of training the client and Dog Guide train together and live together at the Oakville training facility for up to 26 days to ensure bonding and a team approach to work and on-going care.
